Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 May 2026
Prostate Awareness Bermuda (“PAB”, “we”) is a community organisation in Bermuda providing support and knowledge about prostate cancer. This privacy notice explains what limited personal information we collect when you visit this website, how we use it, and the rights you have under Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act 2016 (PIPA).
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Email subscriptions (when offered): your email address.
- Standard server logs (kept briefly for security): IP address, user agent, timestamp, and page requested.
We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking analytics that profile you. We do not collect payment information through this website.
How we use it
- Contact-form messages are used only to respond to you.
- Subscribed email addresses are used only to send you the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Server logs are used only for site security and to investigate technical issues.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Who handles it
We use third-party providers as data processors only:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- DigitalOcean hosts the database in which contact-form submissions and subscriber emails are stored.
Both providers are bound by their own data-protection terms; we do not give them permission to use your data for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
- Contact-form messages are kept while we may need to refer back to the conversation; on request we will delete them sooner.
- Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs are kept briefly (typically 30 days) for security investigation.
Cookies
This site uses minimal cookies for session and preference purposes only — for example, to keep an admin signed in or to remember a display preference. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.
Your rights under PIPA
Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act 2016 (PIPA) gives you the right to ask what information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and to ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, please email us at pabda@gmail.com.
Members and volunteers
PAB members, advisors, officers, and volunteers separately sign an internal Confidentiality Agreement governing the handling of other members’ personal, medical, and financial information. That document covers offline interactions; this website privacy policy covers visitors who interact with the website only.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
